The 3-Day Soup Cleanse: Eat as Much as You Want to Boost The Immune System and Digestion

If you want to stay healthy and keep your organs working properly, you need to clean your body every once in a while. Over the years, people have tried different detox methods – some like to use green juices, while others pick other solutions. Juicing is a great way to clean your body – the fruits and veggies will provide it with various nutrients, while their antioxidants keep your cells in perfect shape. Of course, the body is better off with light foods such as juices which it can process easily and eliminate the waste quickly.

However, there’s one detox method which works even better – soups. Soups are the perfect food for our body. They are easily customizable and contain essential vitamins and nutrients for our health, which makes them the perfect detox method. Furthermore, they usually contain a lot of fiber, which can boost your digestion and help you lose weight.

The health benefits of a soup cleanse

As we already said, soups are the perfect cleanse for your body. You can add different spices and herbs in them which will boost the soups efficiency and clean your kidneys, gut, liver, lungs, skin and lymphatic system as well. Vegetable soups are especially great as they contain complex carbs as well as fiber which will boost the function of your gut, relieve inflammation and treat more than one problem.

The perfect soup cleanse lasts for 3 days and during this time, you’ll need to eat 5-6 bowls of soup per day. We generally recommend preparing bone broths, which can be prepared for a few days in advance. Also, you need to make sure to drink plenty of water during the process, as proper hydration is highly important when you’re trying to detox.

Preparing the soups

The first thing you’ll need is to decide on the base – we suggest miso, veggie or bone broth. You can use kale, cabbage, zucchinis, plantain, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, beets or parsnips in your soups, and spice them up with turmeric, cinnamon, garlic or cumin. Coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil or ghee are also allowed – all these oils contain healthy fats that are necessary for your body to properly function.

Here are 3 simple detox soup recipes that we’re sure you’ll love:

1. Broccoli soup

Ingredients

  • 2-3 cups of broccoli (florets)
  • 1 onion
  • A cup of spinach or kale
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 2 cups bone broth
  • 2 cups of chopped carrots
  • ½ a lemon
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons collage
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Instructions

Cook the coconut oil in a saucepan until it melts, then add the broccoli, celery and onions. Cook the mixture for 5 more minutes, then pour the broth, leave everything to boil and blend the soup for a few more minutes. Serve it warm afterwards and enjoy!

2. Carrot and ginger soup

Ingredients

  • 2 onions
  • 6 cups bone broth
  • 2 pounds of carrots
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons ginger (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons collagen
  • A cup of coconut milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of onion powder

Instructions

Mix the ginger, carrots, bone broth and garlic in a bigger pot, then leave the mixture to boil before simmering it on low heat. Once done, put the onions and ghee in a pan and sauté them until they’re caramelized. Pour the broth in this mixture and mix well, then mix in a blender and add the spices and coconut milk last.

3. Red lentil soup

Ingredients

  • ½ cup red lentils
  • 2 sweet potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 onion
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 4-5 cups bone broth
  • Small piece of ginger
  • A bit of paprika, cumin, sea salt, black pepper and chili

Instructions

Heat the coconut oil first until it melts, then proceed to add the apple, carrots, sweet potatoes and onions. Cook everything until the onion is caramelized, then add the spices, lentils and bone broth to the mix.

Cook everything for about 30 minutes, then blend the soup until it thickens. Add some coconut cream as a topping, serve the soup and enjoy.
